Fashion: Warm, dry and chic feet

And here it is: winter is upon us, its harsh, cold reality hit this week after we had a gentle, 30cm reminder that, yes, we do live in Canada, land of snow and freezing winters.

But let it be known that we will not under any circumstance sacrifice fashion in the name of frost.
After a rather dissapointing fall, I do declare we’ve got hope for us shoeaholics out there!

Riding Boots

It’s been British countryside heaven out there and we’ve all been drooling over Middleton-worthy boots to rock in our urban lives.
Thank goodness, our favorite brands have come up with brilliant ways to keep the trend alive despite sub-zero temperatures!

Californian-based brand Däv has been a staple of mine for years. Chic, warm and waterproof, they go with everything from a pair of skinny jeans to a black mini with high socks or a dress. I’ve worn them in temperatures going down to -20°C and my feet were still nice and warm! A wardrobe staple!

Däv – Galway boots – $119

Däv – Lisbon Boots – $98

And let’s not forget our local brands! Pajar also took a spin on the equestrian-style with these beauties! Fashionable and good down to -40°C!

Pajar – Carry – $415

Truth be told, the chilling outdoor temperatures shouldn’t stop us from discovering our homeland. Sure, the beach and palm trees are nice (*sigh*) but there’s nothing quite like discovering the great, ferocious North and enjoying the sparkling snow on a sunny day.

I love Sorel when it comes to this: sturdy, waterproof and warm, they will give you that extra edge, perfect for any escape. Throw on your winter coat and your favorite combination of stylish hat and shades and you’re good to go!

Sorel – Tofino Holiday Boot – Now $187

Sorel – Conquest Carly Boot – $210

Scandinavian and Canadian styles have been inspiring designers around the world for the past two winters, so let’s enjoy it while we can!

La Canadienne has what you need! Available in three different colours (but I’m crushing on the grey), these boots are waterproof, warm and designed here in Montreal!

La Canadienne – Hopper Grey – $575

One of my all-time favorite brands, Roxy, also gives you some extra-cute options, including these gorgeous Porter boots, that I’d pair with either rolled-up jeans or thigh-high Norwegian-inspired socks!

Roxy – Porter Boots – $90

Don’t let the winter kill your fashion mojo!
